
Tuesday, August 25, 2026 - A commercial cyclist, Nura Yusuf, who had been declared missing, has been found d3ad inside an uncompleted building in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He was found in the building located around Gas Pipeline
area in Unguwar Sabo-Tasha, along the Abaji-Gwagwalada Road.
According to Daily Trust, the deceased, a native of Bagwa
Local Government Area of Kano State, had reportedly picked up passengers
heading towards the Gas Pipeline area, where he was allegedly strangled.
A close friend of the deceased, Ibrahim Baba, who confirmed
the incident to the publication on Monday, August 24 said the decomposing body
of the cyclist was discovered inside an uncompleted building in the area on
Saturday.
He said some farmers heading to their farms discovered the
body after perceiving a bad odour from the building.
"It was some farmers who were going to the farms that
discovered the body following a bad odour from the area. They moved closer and
discovered the body,” he said.
According to him, the cyclist had been declared missing for
several weeks before his corpse was found.
Baba said the police were immediately alerted and officers
were mobilised to the scene.
He said the decomposed body was subsequently buried at the
scene.
Baba said the deceased, who resided in Abaji town, was
survived by a pregnant wife.
He added that the deceased’s phone could not be reached from
the time he was declared missing until his body was discovered on Saturday.
A police source at the Abaji Division, who spoke on
condition of anonymity, also confirmed the discovery of the decomposed body.
“Upon the arrival of policemen at the scene, the body had
already decomposed, so the corpse was buried at the scene,” the source
said.
