Wednesday, September 23, 2026 - The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, Mohammed Manfred Abdulramah, for allegedly impersonating a military officer.
The suspect, who hails from Okene, Kogi State, was arrested
along the Auchi–Okene Expressway.
The spokesperson of the command, Eno Ikoedem, said the
suspect was arrested on September 16, 2026, by personnel of the 195 Battalion,
Aganebode, stationed at Okpella along the Auchi–Okene road.
According to her, the suspect, who was travelling from
Warri, Delta State, to Okene, was found wearing military camouflage trousers
and a camouflage vest.
She said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect
was not a military personnel and that he allegedly stole the uniform from a
Navy officer based in Niger State.
Ikoedem said investigation into the matter was ongoing,
adding that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the
investigation.
