Tuesday, August 25, 2026 -At least three residents have been killed and 10 others abducted after armed bandits invaded Taketsaba village in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The incident was disclosed on Tuesday by conflict
analyst Bakastine in a post on his X handle.
Bakastine said the victims included women and babies, adding
that one of those killed was Aliyu M. Taketsaba, a Civil Defence officer
serving in Mafara Division.
He also identified a primary school teacher, Tanimu Aliyu
Takatsaba, among those abducted during the attack.
“Bandits that invaded Taketsaba village in Talata Mafara
LGA, Zamfara State, killed three residents and abducted at least 10 residents,
including women and babies,” Bakastine said.
The conflict analyst had earlier raised an alarm over the
activities of armed groups in the area, calling for urgent security assistance
to Takatsaba and surrounding communities.
In an earlier alert, he said, “Bandits are currently in
Takatsaba village, Talata Mafara LGA of Zamfara State. Security assistance is
needed in the village and surrounding communities.”
The latest attack has heightened concerns over the security
situation in communities around Talata Mafara, where armed groups have
continued to pose a threat to residents.
The circumstances surrounding the attack, including the
identities of the attackers and the whereabouts of the abducted victims, remain
unclear.
As of the time of filing this report, the Zamfara State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while the fate of the abducted victims remained unknown.
