Wednesday, November 4, 2026 - The United States Department of Justice has announced charges involving two Nigerian national and 61 other individuals, including four illegal aliens, in connection with illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration, and related election crimes across the country.
According to the statement issued on Monday, November 2,
2026, the cases include voting by aliens in federal elections, false claims of
U.S. citizenship to register to vote or to vote, and the fraudulent submission
of a voter registration application in another state.
"Today’s announcement marks the largest surge of
voter-fraud arrests since President Trump returned to office,” said Attorney
General Todd Blanche.
"These foreign nationals allegedly took advantage of
the trust of the American people and flouted the laws that govern our nation’s
elections. This Department of Justice will continue investigating and
prosecuting voter fraud to restore confidence in our electoral system.”
In the last nine weeks alone, the Department has charged 195
aliens across 25 states with illegal voting and registration offenses. Since
the beginning of this Administration, we have charged 239 people with voting
fraud-related offenses.
The Nigerian nationals are identified as Michael Agah,
74, and Mohammed Omar Hassan, 61.
Hassan, a lawful permanent resident, was charged with voting
by an alien and making a false claim to U.S. citizenship to vote in
Texas.
Hassan allegedly voted in the 2022 and 2024 elections.
Agah, a lawful permanent resident, has been charged with
voting by an alien and making a false claim to U.S. citizenship to vote in
North Carolina.
Agah allegedly falsely stated and claimed that he was a U.S. citizen on an Authorization to Vote Form. Then on Nov. 5, 2024, Agah voted in a federal election.
