Wednesday, October 28 2026 - The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential
candidate, Peter Obi, has said Nigeria does not need President Bola Tinubu who
runs when there is a problem.
Obi made the remark while mocking President Tinubu over the
level of insecurity in Nigeria.
He spoke last night in Abuja during the inauguration of the
NDC's Presidential Campaign Council.
Obi assured that if elected as Nigeria's president, his
administration will uphold integrity and accountability.
He said: “My government will uphold integrity, enforce
accountability, and ensure that public funds serve the people, not private
interests.
"I will never use the office of the President to enrich
myself, and I will not tolerate the misappropriation of Nigeria’s resources by
anyone under my watch.
"We don't need a government where if there is a
problem, our president will run away."
He noted that Tinubu has travelled out of Nigeria over 260
times but decided not to visit all states of the federation for his campaign.
Obi insisted that Nigeria needs a revolution that will
change things.
"Our president has been out of this country over 260
times in the past three years and now he can't take 30 days to go to all the
states of Nigeria to tell them what he has been doing for the past three years
with their money.
"That is unacceptable, as we will need a revolution
that will turn this country around," he added.
