Tuesday, October 27 2026 - Nigerian traditional spiritualist KingLade has claimed that Christian and Islamic religious leaders are among the biggest customers of babalawos.
Speaking during an appearance on the ClarityZone Podcast,
KingLade alleged that some pastors and Islamic clerics secretly consult
traditional spiritual practitioners despite their public religious
affiliations.
“There are two key customers of a babalawo, and those are
the clergymen and the Islamic clerics,” he said.
He further claimed that many shops selling materials used
for traditional spiritual practices are operated by Yoruba Muslim women and are
regularly visited by imams, Alfas, Wolis and pastors.
According to him, some pastors visit babalawos for spiritual
assistance before returning to their churches to publicly give glory to Jesus.
KingLade, who revealed that he was raised in a Christian
home by a pastor and a deaconess, also made sweeping allegations against
churches and their leaders.
“Every church is a fraud syndicate. They all know what they
are doing. Every pastor is a fraud,” he declared.
His claims were not accompanied by evidence establishing
that the practices he described are widespread.
