Thursday, October 29, 2026 - The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, Samuel Ogochukwu, from Imo State, for allegedly using a nine-year-old boy to transport illicit drugs in an attempt to evade security operatives.
The command disclosed this in a statement issued by its
spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
According to the statement, the suspect was arrested with 17
sachets of Tramadol, five sachets of D5 and five sachets of another
unidentified drug.
The police said the suspect allegedly admitted to
trafficking the substances and using the nine-year-old boy to transport them in
order to avoid detection by security personnel.
He reportedly claimed that he engaged in the illegal
activity to raise money to care for his ailing mother.
The command revealed that the suspect remains in police
custody as investigations into the case continue.
