Wednesday, August 19, 2026 - The police in the Federal Capital Territory have rescued a motorist from a mob following a road traffic accident in the Karsana District of Abuja.
The incident occurred on Sunday, according to an update
issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, on Tuesday.
The police spokesperson said operatives responded swiftly to
the mob action involving the motorist after the road crash.
He added that the motorist was rescued from the mob and
taken to safety, while normalcy was subsequently restored in the area.
He stated, “Police operatives responded swiftly to a mob
action involving a motorist following a road traffic accident at Karsana
District.
“The motorist was rescued from the mob and taken to safety.
Normalcy was restored in the area.”
The statement added that the State Criminal Investigation
Department was investigating the incident.
In a separate operation on Monday, Iniedu stated that police
operatives arrested three suspected vandals allegedly caught destroying public
infrastructure along 3 Constitution Avenue, Abuja.
He said the suspects were arrested by operatives on a
disguised patrol who were conducting surveillance in the area.
According to the police, the suspects were taken into
custody for investigation, while the SCID, Abuja, is handling the case.
