Wednesday, August 19, 2026 - Country music icon Dolly Parton has apologized for missing the opening of a new attraction at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee after her doctors advised her not to travel due to recent health issues.
The 80-year-old singer said she had been experiencing
dizziness and dehydration, prompting her medical team to recommend that she
remain in Nashville.
Parton addressed fans in a video shared during the opening
of the NightFlight Expedition ride, joking that her doctor had “kinda clipped
my wings” by telling her not to travel that week.
She also revealed that she has been dealing with some health
issues in recent months and has not been touring as usual.
Parton postponed her Las Vegas residency last year after
undergoing several undisclosed medical procedures and has largely stayed out of
the public eye.
Despite missing the event, she encouraged guests to enjoy
the new attraction and assured them she would see them “down the road.”
