Monday, August 3, 2026 -Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested two suspected terrorist informants during a fighting patrol at Askira Market in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
Intelligence sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama
that the suspects were apprehended at about 3:10 p.m. on August ,2026 by troops
of the 115 Task Force Battalion acting on credible intelligence.
The suspects were identified as Gujiya Mamiyo Umar, 40, from
Gargauli, and Adam Abba, 39, from Bulakurge village, both in Askira/Uba Local
Government Area.
According to the sources, the troops arrested the duo during
routine fighting and market patrols aimed at disrupting terrorist support
networks and identifying collaborators operating within civilian communities.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the
Headquarters of the 28 Task Force Brigade for further investigation and other
necessary actions.
Military sources said the operation forms part of ongoing
intelligence-driven efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to dismantle terrorist
logistics and intelligence networks across the North-East.
They added that the general security situation across the
theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops continue to maintain high
morale and operational readiness in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign.
