Suffering is becoming unbearable for Nigerians due to high cost of living,Church tells Federal Government

Friday, February 9, 2024 – The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has said that Nigerians are suffering a lot due to the current state of the economy. 

Addressing newsmen on Friday, February 9, the Christian group in the 19 Northern States and Abuja stated that the suffering in the country is becoming unbearable for ordinary Nigerians as the high cost of foodstuffs, transportation, goods, and services has made life difficult for many Nigerians.

CAN, in a statement released by its Secretary-General, Elder Sunday Oibe, in Kaduna, called on the Federal Government to, as a matter of urgency, step in and address the depressing economic and escalating security situation in the country.

They also noted that suffering in the country has been compounded by the escalating insecurity occasioned by rampant killings and kidnappings for ransom.
